Not a whole lot has gone well for the Patriots since the 2023 season began nearly five weeks ago, and it all came to a head when they were embarrassed against the Dallas Cowboys last week.

Although the defense had been the better side of the team leading up to the game, all three units were in shambles when matched up with what looked like a beatable opponent. From poor coverage and lack of separation to costly turnovers and untimely penalties, the Patriots were an absolute mess.

A few players stood out in the chaos for their lackluster performances. Other than those screaming for Mac Jones to be benched because of his uncharacteristically horrific performance, some teammates played almost as poorly.

Maybe they didn't stand out as much as the quarterback, but what they did do impacted much of what resulted in the game.

It will be interesting to see what Bill Belichick chooses to do with the roster as they head home in a must-win game against the Saints. There aren't many options in certain areas, making it more difficult for some players to be used less. But a few should definitely be sidelined more for their poor contributions last week.
