The New England Patriots once again lost, and now sit at 1-5 through Week 6 of the 2023 NFL season. Let's go over some key takeaways. The Patriots had their chances, but have not been able to get it done; plain and simple. Even QB Jimmy Garoppolo had left the game, so the Patriots had a chance to take advantage of backup Brian Hoyer being in, but at the end of the day, this team is not talented enough to win many games.

I can see one bright spot with this team thus far. Wherever you look, this team has serious issues, and Week 6 didn't really tell us anything we did not already know about this team. At this point, the team should prepare to trade off some veteran players at the deadline.

Let's go over a few takeaways after another brutal loss.

1. Was this the game that Bill Belichick lost control of his team?

This game likely has absolutely no playoff implications down the road, but it's easy to see why this game was probably very important for both the Patriots and Raiders. The Raiders are filled with former Patriots players, coaches, and front office members. It's becoming a rivalry at this point, and how the 2022 matchup ended, I'm sure Bill Belichick didn't want to lose in another embarrassing way.

Well, he did. The Patriots played a pretty awful game and just could not go enough to win. With four games left against the Bills, Dolphins, Commanders, and Colts before the bye week, could we see the Patriots lose at least three of those games and drop to 2-8 at their bye? At that point, I'm not sure how Belichick hasn't lost control of his team.

The Week 6 loss might be the catalyst for that.
