3 guarantees for the New England Patriots after the 2023 NFL season
2. The team holds a pick in the top 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft
The New England Patriots are going to be in a spot that I don't think anyone truly thought they'd be it. Right now, they currently hold the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. That would surely take them out of the running for Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, and probably takes them out of the running for Marvin Harrison Jr.
However, getting into the top three would guarantee them one of those players, like Marvin Harrison Jr. The Patriots need a franchise-type of player like that to bring some energy to their organization. MHJ would be a perfect player for the Patriots' organization, and he would obviously fill a huge need for the team.
Who knows, maybe the Patriots continue losing like this and are able to slide into the top two of the 2024 NFL Draft. Here's the thing; if you are a Patriots' fan and you are hoping the team can land Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, I don't think the Patriots would be able to get into the top two if they were picking third or fourth overall.
I don't think other teams in the top two would be willing to trade down and pass up drafting Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. However, I think this team is truly bad enough that they can slide into the top three, which would be a great spot and would be the perfect start for a rebuild.
