3 dream scenarios a would boost Patriots' Super Bowl odds in 2023
2. Other AFC East teams disappoint and don't live up to the hype

The AFC East is probably the best division in football by a mile. Both the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins have made legitimate additions to their roster and coaching staff this season, and many people in the NFL world seem to be pretty high on both teams.

Well, all of that hype in the offseason does not necessarily guarantee success in the coming season. Just look at the 2022 Denver Broncos; the additions of Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett prompted many to crown the Broncos the winners of the offseason before falling flat when the games actually began.

What if this happens in 2023 with the Jets and Dolphins? There's always a chance that one of the teams or even both don't end up playing at the level that many think they will. This could even include the Buffalo Bills, who can do some damage during the regular season but cannot get over the hump come playoff time.

Hopefully, in this dream scenario, the Patriots would be able to take advantage of the underperformance. The Pats could then have an avenue in 2023 to earn a Wild Card spot.
