3 big trades the Patriots should make at the NFL trade deadline
3. Target a more modest player in Jerry Jeudy
If the New England Patriots don't feel like making a major trade, buying modestly on Denver Broncos' WR Jerry Jeudy could be their choice. Jeudy is 24 years old and is under contract through the 2024 NFL season. He had over 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2022 on the 32nd-ranked scoring offense in the NFL.
He also seems to be falling out of favor a bit in Denver and doesn't seem to be a part of the team's long-term plans. With some of the trades we've seen thus far, Jeudy may not cost more than a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Given that Jeudy would have a year and a half of team control and is still in his mid-20s, this might be a nice move for the Pats to make.
Jeudy would be the best WR on the roster and would surely get a high share of the targets in the offense. Jeudy brings youth, speed, and elite route-running. He's an explosive player who can separate multiple ways and could be a nice WR the team could use for the future.
