According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, the New England Patriots' offensive linemen chose to push their weekly Thursday dinner to Friday night in order to attend the evening's NBA matchup at the TD Garden between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.

That decision ultimately led to an incredibly memorable moment for Boston sports fans which further endeared many to rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell.

When the Garden's jumbotron displayed a shot of the suite occupied by the group of Patriots teammates, Campbell jumped up from his chair, removed his shirt, finished off a beer that was handed to him, spiked the empty cup on the ground, and then waved his arms in excitement to further fire-up the already electric packed house of Celtics faithful.

Quarterback Drake Maye can be seen in the top left corner of the clip enjoying the moment for his blindside protector and cheering Campbell along with their fellow Patriots players.

Those fans were also likely encouraged to see the 2025 fourth overall pick seemingly moving well after an MCL sprain suffered during the Patriots' Week 12 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals landed him on injured reserve. Campbell has yet to practice since first going down with the injury, but head coach Mike Vrabel has said previously it is likely not season-ending.  The earliest Campbell could return to the field is for the team's season-finale against the New York Jets.

Recently, Patriots offensive lineman Vederian Lowe, who has been filling in for Campbell at the left tackle spot while he recovers, shared an update on his teammate's recovery process, according to Bernd Buchmasser of Pats Pulpit.

“Will’s doing a great job, working hard to get himself back. He’s sticking around. He’s always around, watching the film with us, still in on the game plan. Just having the same routine. You know when he comes back, he’s going to be ready to roll. He’s handling it very well.”

Meanwhile, on the court, the Celtics would go on to beat Miami 129-116 in a game that also served as a celebration for former Boston point guard Isaiah Thomas and his incredible 52-point performance against the Heat from 2016. The two-time All-Star shot 15-26 from the field and 9-13 from beyond the arc in that 117-114 Celtics victory.
