The most important addition to the New England Patriots in the 20325 offseason was Mike Vrabel. While the Head Coach won't throw a pass or make a block (except in practice!), he's the reason for a 180-degree turnaround at Gillette this season.
Not only have Vrabel's incoming personnel decisions been as solid as a Gibraltar in free agency, but he also aced the draft and reeled in a few top-notch undrafted free agents, to boot. The offseason graded a straight A on paper, and it may turn out to be better on the field.
One aspect of the seismic shift in Foxborough has been the noted "Culture Shift" exhibited under Vrabel. While this may be overblown at times (culture doesn't make tackles or catch touchdown passes), it is nevertheless a positive sign when the atmosphere created by the top man (there's no doubt whatsoever who that is) is both well-accepted and publicly lauded by his players.
Mike Vrabel's "culture shift" is geared toward winning for the Patriots
All the comments thus far seem to be positive about the new Patriots' administration. Vrabel has spread his influence over everything from personnel in all its aspects to his team's practice habits.
The Patriots' explosive rookie running back, TreVeyon Henderson, has observed the close teamwork on the new Patriots as a result of Vrabel and company.
Rookie TreVeyon Henderson on how tight this Patriots crew is:

Vrabel stresses that teamwork means that all of the players work together for the common good, aka winning. He won't tolerate not having a celebration when the team scores or there's a big play. That's now a given, and part and parcel of a winning culture.
Mike Vrabel has already made a huge impact on his players
Head coaches are the major motivators of any sports team, along with the captains who are the harbingers of their message. If it's missing, so likely will be the positive attitude that makes the difference in a close game between winning and losing.
Vrabel has already announced his goal is to de-throne the Buffalo Bills at the top of the AFC East. That's no surprise since, as a player on the Patriots, that's the only place he'd find himself after every season. While there's no Tom Brady on hand to smooth the way, Vrabel knows that his young quarterback, Drake Maye, has top potential, as well.
Maye, as Henderson clearly is, is on board with the way his coach has taken command and asserted his persona. And so has Vrabel's most costly free agent acquisition, Milton Williams. He's been outspoken on how Vrabel's hands-on approach in practice and his trash-talking suits him just fine.
All this is a good indicator that Vrabel is engendering his team's confidence in both their Head Coach and themselves. It's exactly what Vrabel wants to see and hear from his players. If everything rounds into form by September 7, the results will be clear for the entire NFL to see. Whether it's a win or a loss, this Patriots team is together, and it will just be a matter of time until they win.
