For much of the offseason, the Patriots have received widespread praise for the moves they have made to improve the team from top to bottom, including Robert Kraft's decision to dismiss Jerod Mayo after just one season as head coach and bring in Mike Vrabel as his successor. The new regime has made the drastic improvements needed to make a competitive team again, which has thrust New England into the playoff conversation, even if just as a wildcard.

As a result, they are expected to be the second-best team in the AFC East, with the Dolphins and Jets finishing behind them, much like they have in the past. Both teams have had notable offseasons, including New York's signing of QB Justin Fields and the drama surrounding Tyreek Hill in Miami. But there's room for more chaos to be had, according to the latest gossip.

The Jets cannot escape being their own biggest enemy, with the latest being potential drama with running back Breece Hall. The fourth-year player will be looking to prove his value beyond any doubt this upcoming season, but it might not guarantee his future will be with the Jets.

The latest rumor suggests the Jets could look to trade one of their biggest offensive stars in 2025 season goes poorly

While discussing Hall's desire to be among the best running backs in the league in 2025, ESPN's Rich Cimini reveals some insight into the ongoing situation in New York, which could lead to Hall being traded at some point this fall.

Cimini doesn't believe the new regime led by head coach Aaron Glenn is looking to move on from Hall just yet, since he likes a run heavy offense. However, he does see a situation unfolding if the Jets are not a playoff-contending team that would make sense for Hall to be on the trade block.

"The Jets want to be a run-oriented offense, so it wouldn't have made sense to trade their most accomplished back. It could be a different story around the mid-season trading deadline. If they fall out of contention, Hall will be a prime candidate to be dealt. We already know how much [Aaron] Glenn likes [Braelon] Allen and [Isaiah] Davis."

That would be a massive loss for the Patriots' rival, while being a gift for New England's defense, even if they have suitable backups in Allen and Davis. This would be another marker of the ever-evolving demise of the Jets that Patriots fans have grown to love watching, and maybe not the greatest start to Glenn's tenure as the head coach.

It could ultimately lead to more drama unfolding within the organization, something they haven't been able to avoid for many years, especially last year with Aaron Rodgers in the building. It could make for an easier matchup for the Patriots, who hope to continue their reign over the Jets, but it's still possible that trading Hall will never come to fruition.

It will all depend on how Fields does under center and if he can make them a competitive team in the way they hope he can. The former first-round pick is a risky move for the Jets to make, but he will inevitably dictate their future and possibly even Hall's too.
