The New England Patriots would be wise to look at wide receivers early in the 2026 NFL Draft. While Texas A&M star KC Concepcion has rightly earned himself a following in this fanbase, but some rivals in the AFC East may have their eyes on this proverbial prize.
FanSided's interactive 2026 NFL Draft Big Board, which features both a top 50 ranking of the best prospects in the draft and 32 separate top-five rankings for every team in the league, has Concepcion clocking in as the No. 5 prospect Patriots fans should be keeping an eye on.
The only issue with that is that the Buffalo Bills' team-specific Big Board has Concepcion listed as the No. 1 target they should focus on at No. 26 overall. Missing out on the Aggies' star is one thing, but losing him to Buffalo is a serious gut punch.
Patriots may see NFL Draft target KC Concepcion get drafted by Bills
Concepcion seems like an ideal replacement for Stefon Diggs, as he is deadly with the ball in his hands and shows the explosion off the line that teams want to see from primary passing game options. Concepcion produced despite iffy quarterback play and a lack of perimeter talent around him.
The problems with him as a player stem from his inability to shake his drop problem. When paired with a slight frame that can be a problem when he has to face aggressive press coverage, Concepcion shouldn't be expected to come in and instantly assert himself as a No. 1 wide receiver right out of the gate.
Buffalo, who extended Khalil Shakir and recently traded for DJ Moore, seems to put an emphasis on players who can make plays with the ball in their hands and separate at the line of scrimmage. Concepcion would make sense from a stylistic point of view, and that's bad news for the Patriots.
New England's big board gives them plenty of recourse if Concepcion is gone. Edge rushers like Missouri's Zion Young and fellow Aggie Cashius Howell are in Musket Fire's top three, while Arizona State offensive tackle Max Iheanachor stands out as a fit due to the pre-draft interest Mike Vrabel has shown in the promising youngster.
If the Patriots are dead-set on picking a wide receiver early in the Draft, they may need a little bit of good fortune to fall their way, as all of their division rivals could stand to add some pass catchers, and talents like Concepcion may be unlikely to fall to New England.
