Patriots just accomplished something we haven't seen since Bill Belichick days

From the moment Mike Vrabel was introduced as the newest coach of the New England Patriots, there were many assumptions about what kind of coach he would be, with most believing he would bring many of the traits of Bill Belichick back to Foxboro. Although many of those aspects weren't needed, he has clearly reinvigorated this team, and that's why they're on a six-game win streak.

Hoping to extend that to seven, the Patriots had a good opportunity to go into halftime with the lead against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. The game started rough, but with masterful clock management to end the half and potentially the play of the weekend by Stefon Diggs with a toe touch touchdown, they finished the half up 14-10, with hopes of finally double-scoring, as they had the football to start the third quarter.

That was a staple of the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era, and is a big reason why the Patriots were such a dominant group for two decades.

It's a feat they haven't been able to replicate so far this season —until this week, when TreVeyon Henderson hit speeds over 22 mph for a 55-yard touchdown run in the first minute of the second half.

The Patriots are finally starting to look like themselves again with an explosive start to the second half

The double-score is the kind of thing the Patriots should try to achieve more often moving forward, especially against tougher opponents like the Bucs. It's not necessarily from a lack of trying, but some of the play calls that Josh McDaniels has made coming out of the half have led to the obvious failure to get it done.

That wasn't the case this week, and it was the perfect setup for a game led by Patriots rookies, as Kyle Williams scored an impressive touchdown in the first half.

It's what Patriots fans have been waiting for from the two young players, who received a lot of hype coming out of the draft, especially since the team chose to use their second and third round picks on them to boost the offense for Drake Maye.

This would be a great way to kick off the second half of the season, by utilizing the rookies more and (hopefully) making things like double scoring a permanent part of their efforts each week.

Considering what we've seen already from Drake Maye and Josh McDaniels, it feels like this is certainly possible.
