It wouldn't be a 2026 game for the Patriots if they didn't lose more players to injury, would it?
The luck they had avoiding the injury bug last year has bitten them hard this time around, and it doesn't look like it's getting any better as the weeks go on. It looked like they took two brutal blows against the Raiders when Will Campbell and TreVeyon Henderson left before halftime, and further testing showed both had sprains.
But they suited up for Sunday's matchup with the Jets, surprisingly, and started despite their diagnoses. While that was great news, seeing more players leave early was far from ideal, with wide receiver Romeo Doubs, tackle Morgan Moses, and guard Alijah Vera-Tucker all leaving before halftime.
The offensive line, in particular, has taken the biggest hits, as they have already lost Mike Onwenu to a broken ankle, and Campbell is now dealing with a knee sprain. So having two more starters leave is bound to make things worse.
And after finally getting A.J. Brown back in the lineup, losing Doubs is far from great, too, and now Drake Maye will have to figure out how to deal with a depleted receiving corps again.
Injury updates for several Patriots' starters in Week 6
WR Romeo Doubs
After making an impressive 42-yard touchdown catch, Doubs stayed down on the field before being tended to by trainers. He first went to the blue medical tent, then headed to the locker room, and is said to be dealing with a shoulder injury.
He has been deemed questionable to return.
UPDATE: Doubs has been ruled out for the rest of the game at the start of the third quarter.
RT Morgan Moses
The veteran tackle exited the game against the Jets with what is reportedly an ankle injury. Caleb Lomu came in to replace him after the Patriots had him practicing to eventually take over for Moses next season.
So this will be a big test for the rookie after his standout showing at left tackle last week.
He's facing David Bailey, whom he dominated in college, and, as the Jets' leading pass rusher, Lomu being ready to go is a big plus, especially with Alijah Vera-Tucker injured at left guard.
UPDATE: The Patriots ruled Moses out at the start of the 4th quarter.
LG Alijah Vera-Tucker
After a solid start to the 2026 season and seemingly becoming another cornerstone of the offensive line, Vera-Tucker couldn't avoid injury for too long, as he left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury.
Ben Brown replaced him at left guard, and the hope is that he can do a decent enough job to avoid a major problem without AVT in the lineup for the rest of the game, especially since their depth is already being tested.
UPDATE: Vera-Tucker was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
OL Ben Brown
Early in the fourth quarter, Ben Brown went down clutching his knee, leaving Walter Rouse as the sole backup on the offensive line.
UPDATE: He has been ruled out with five minutes left in the game.
LB Dre'Mont Jones
The pass rusher appeared to injure his knee in the fourth quarter and stayed down for about a minute while trainers tended to him. He walked off the field to the bench on his own, but it's something to monitor moving forward.
