The Patriots have had the unique fortune of going into their season opener with a very limited injury report, with only cornerback Christian Gonzalez being ruled out so far. The list only contains a few other names, with the most concerning being rookie left tackle Will Campbell.

Because he is set to serve perhaps the most critical role on the entire offensive line, his availability is crucial and will ultimately dictate the success of the offense in its totality. We saw the severe lack of that during Drake Maye's rookie season last year, so Campbell dealing with an ankle injury could be a massive blow to their potential.

It will be something to monitor over the next few days, but the Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan provided the latest update on Friday morning, stating that he saw Campbell in the locker room with a compression sock on his left ankle.

However, there was no obvious sign he was limping, which is a significant update given how tough ankle injuries can be for players to deal with.

Will Campbell's injury doesn't appear serious enough for Patriots fans to grow too concerned (yet)

Callahan's update was one that fans needed to hear in the days leading to a very crucial Week 1 matchup with the Raiders.

The offensive line lacks serious depth, so the idea of Campbell having to be sidelined already is far from ideal. They don't have many other options to go with if he were unable to suit up, especially since they moved on from most of the veterans they could have used during roster cutdowns last month.

For now, although Campbell was just officially reported to be questionable, the fact that he's not showing obvious signs of serious injury should provide enough confidence that he will be good to go on Sunday afternoon.

He will easily become one of the most important players on the entire Patriots roster, making his rookie debut all the more important.
