This is fantastic.

The New England Patriots are dueling with the Los Angeles Rams in Gillette Stadium with the hopes of moving to 4-7 and keeping their season afloat. Fortunately, rookie quarterback Drake Maye understood the assignment early in the game, putting New England up 7-0 in the first quarter after completing a 10-yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Bourne.

Maye was impressive on the drive, completing four of his five pass attempts, including a 28-yard strike to Demario Douglas on 3rd-and-7 that kept the drive alive. Pats fans loved what they saw from Maye on the scoring drive and so did the Gillette Stadium DJ.

After Maye threw that touchdown pass to Bourne to give New England a 7-0 lead, the in-stadium DJ celebrated by spinning a classic tune honoring the rookie quarterback. N*SYNC's "It's Gonna Be Me" started playing because the way the song is sung, it sounds like Justin Timberlake is saying "It's Gonna Be May", which of course is the Patriots quarterback's last name. Fun stuff.

The Patriots spent the third overall pick on Maye, who played his college career at North Carolina. Maye didn't start the season in the starting role but once it was clear that this team was going nowhere with Jacoby Brissett leading the offense, a change was made and Maye became the newest starting quarterback of the New England Patriots in Week 6 against the Houston Texans.

While the Patriots still haven't been good since Maye took over, there have absolutely been glimpses of potential from the rookie signal-caller. What he did on that touchdown drive was indication enough that Maye very well could be the franchise quarterback the Patriots have been searching for since Tom Brady's departure following the 2019 season.

Let's hope that Patriots fans are treated to "It's Gonna Be Me" after a ton of Drake Maye game-winning touchdowns for the next decade plus.
