The 2025 NFL schedule release for the Patriots gave fans a lot to look forward to, with a few games, in particular, that had fans more anticipating than usual. One of those games was Mike Vrabel's return to Tennessee, the first time he is set to face off against the team that shockingly fired him after the 2023 season.

Now that he's back in a head coach role, he will have an opportunity to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Titans made a mistake in firing him by seeking revenge in the form of what appears to be an impressive Patriots team.

He has also maintained loyalty to a few players he signed while he was their head coach, with the most prominent name being linebacker Harold Landry. Because players followed him to New England the second they could, and various current and former Titans have openly spoken about their high regard for him, that shows Vrabel's former team even more that maybe they made a mistake in firing him.

So getting some sort of revenge on them with his new team would be pretty sweet.

That would be the best possible scenario for one of the best head coaches the Titans had in several years, and even better for the Patriots to add another win to their season.

Mike Vrabel can seek the ultimate redemption against the Titans this season

Unfortunately, Vrabel will have to wait until Week 7 for that, as the 2025 schedule revealed during Wednesday's announcement. The reunion and (hopeful) revenge will be put on hold, but that could work in Vrabel's favor.

Typically, teams play their best football later in the season because they're more acclimated with their new coaches and teammates and are more comfortable with the game plan. That has been the case for the Patriots historically, and it's fair to assume that will be true again this year.

That could give them a better chance at beating the Titans, who will have first overall pick Cam Ward leading their offense. As the best quarterback of the class, it is expected that defenses will have to seriously prepare for the Miami alum, and that will be no different for an improving Patriots team.

No matter what, it would be a big plus on Vrabel's New England resume if he can lead the team to a win over his former team, something even the fans would love to see.
