The Patriots' decision to have multiple rookie starters on their offensive line drew mixed reviews at the start of the season, especially when facing a defense as skilled as the Browns on Sunday. It meant a player like Will Campbell would be tested—and tested often —as he lined up against Myles Garrett, and that has been the case for the entirety of the game.

As a future Hall of Fame defensive end, it's common for any offensive tackle, no matter how seasoned they are, to struggle against Garrett, so seeing Campbell not fare well is not unexpected.

However, Garrett set a Browns franchise record with five sacks before the game was even over, making it a difficult day for the Patriots' offense.

Despite that, they still have played well against the league's highest-rated defense, proving even more that they are growing into a team that should be taken more seriously.

Myles Garrett's impressive performance doesn't mean the Patriots' offensive line has failed

The test against a player of Garrett's caliber has been consistent for Campbell this season, but none have been as difficult to stop as the Browns' legend. That has created a tall task for the rookie, who is having one of the worst performances of the season so far, and it's challenging to get too mad about it.

Some of the most skilled tackles in the league perform just like Campbell, if not worse, when lined up against Garrett, so the fact that he's played the way he has is commendable. It has definitely been a "Welcome to the NFL" game for him, and halfway through the season, it couldn't have come at a better time.

It's certainly preparing him for the rest of the year, with some difficult opponents still on the docket, and it should help him grow into a better player.

That's what matters most, especially since Garrett's performance hasn't helped the Browns win the game. The Patriots have done enough to prevent Cleveland's defense from taking over the game, despite just how incredible Garrett has played.
