It's hard to believe a Week 2 game could be a must-win for any NFL team, but that's the fate the Patriots faced heading into their first home matchup against the Steelers.
A frustrating ending to their Super Bowl rematch last week put a lot of pressure on the team to prove they are a legitimate contender, and although their performance on Sunday wasn't exactly perfect, they arguably played better in a lot of areas, and that's commendable.
Despite injuries that ruled out several key players, the Patriots rallied to beat a tough defensive front and a future Hall of Fame quarterback. It was a clear team effort to bounce back from last week, and Mike Vrabel wants to celebrate that.
But because there are still plenty of concerns about the team, especially Drake Maye, it didn't take long for reporters to rain on the coach's parade with questions Vrabel wasn't interested in answering.
In fact, he shut them down really quickly, with both questions coming from seasoned reporters. Many Patriots fans have grown frustrated with him over the years. It seems clear Vrabel felt that frustration too.

If Patriots fans could have been in the room when Vrabel was asked these questions, they surely would have cheered hearing his response.

Vrabel: “Just tryna win the game, Ben. You’re not gonna ruin my Sunday, but I’ll come back to you tomorrow. Thanks, bud.”

Although it's not unfair for a reporter to ask these kinds of questions after another underwhelming performance by Maye, it's fair that Vrabel doesn't want to focus on all the negatives after a hard-fought win that, at one point, looked almost impossible with how many starters left the game.
Losing players like Mike Onwenu, who has been an anchor of the offensive line over the past seven years; rookie Eli Raridon, who scored the only touchdown last week and made an impressive 30-yard catch in this game; and safety Craig Woodson will become a major concern moving forward.
But they can address that after they relish the win a little longer, which Patriots fans should do.
