The ongoing drama at the University of North Carolina since hiring Bill Belichick earlier this year seems to be on a merry-go-round at this point, with no end to the spinning in sight. Most of it has surrounded his controversial relationship with 25-year-old Jordon Hudson, but it appears things have gotten to a point of no return, with a new rumor or news story being released every other day.

That's unfortunately the case now, with another dramatic story surrounding the legendary NFL head coach since joining the Tar Heels staff. It has been a chaotic week for Belichick, one that began with his apparent instruction to UNC staff not to post any Patriots clips on their social media, which they chose not to abide by.

And now rumors are circulating that the higher-ups have initiated discussions regarding an exit strategy if things get to that point. That looks like the track that might be on, which is certainly not where they thought they'd be less than a year into Belichick's tenure.

Latest rumor suggests Bill Belichick's time with UNC is closer to being over already than just beginning

According to Andrews Jones of Tar Heels 24/7, the UNC staff initiated discussions about moving on from Belichick as of Wednesday morning, with the hope of potentially minimizing or even eliminating the buyout of his contract.

Although that's far from the certainty of Belichick being out of a job, it's certainly not a great look that the conversation about firing him is already being had.

It is something that seemed to be predicted by many fans when the announcement was made that the former Patriots coach would be moving onto college football. Fans, and even former players, didn't see it as the right match for Belichick for several reasons, none of which included what he has been doing since moving to North Carolina.

It's just the latest setback to his football legacy, with some already feeling that he has unraveled the accomplishments he accomplished during his impressive NFL career in just a few short months at UNC.

Now, he might be adding even more to that if he were to be fired mid-season. We'll have to keep an eye on what happens over the next few weeks down at Chapel Hill, because it doesn't look like Belichick has a solid future there, or anywhere, moving forward.
