In an unforeseen turn of events, at least for Week 6 anyway, there will be a lot of eyes watching the Patriots in Week 6, as Drake Maye will lead the offense in their matchup with the Texans. It was a decision that Jerod Mayo announced mid-week after their frustrating loss to the Dolphins last Sunday, a game that gave them plenty of opportunities to walk out with another win.

Instead, they're hoping a quarterback change, bringing a renewed sense of energy to the team, will be all they need to win or, at the very least, be competitive against an excellent Texans team that they hope to model over the next few years.

It might not be a perfect effort or even pretty for most of the day. However, it's the official start of the Maye era in Foxboro, and that's an exciting development not many believed would happen until later in the year if at all, this season.

The time is now, and Maye will be joining the rest of his 2024 fellow first-round quarterbacks who have already led their teams to success over the past five weeks.
