There is a long list of infamous plays that New England Patriots fans love to remember from the dynasty years, with perhaps the greatest of all being the butt fumble by Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez on Thanksgiving.

There are countless others, but that is consistently the moment that is fondly brought up every season, and now there might be another to add to the books by another New York team.

There must be something in the water at the Meadowlands, because it seems like things consistently go wrong for the teams that play there. Besides the Jets continuing to Jet this season, the Giants look to be joining the party with their own demise, and now a memorable play that they would prefer be erased forever.

The Giants just replaced the butt fumble in epic fashion on primetime

The butt fumble will forever live in infamy, and now it looks like Giants' kicker, Younghoe Koo, wanted to replace it with his own play.

Not only did he miss a short field goal, but he made it worse by missing the football completely and kicking the ground instead, forever cementing himself in Patriots history for another play that went terribly wrong.

That might win the award for the most embarrassing play of the season, and something that we might have never seen before until this game.

It was an unfortunate misstep, pun intended, that ultimately helped the Patriots avoid the Giants inching closer before halftime. It has already been a chippy game, with some nearly reaching ejectable offenses, but the Patriots hope they can keep the momentum going and take home another win.

They have done enough in all aspects of the game, especially on special teams, to make that much easier than most anticipated, so they have to keep that going and take advantage of mistakes like Koo's to lock it up early.
