As the 2026 NFL Draft nears, the discussion surrounding the possibility of the Patriots trading for AJ Brown will reach a new level, as many analysts believe a deal could be made during the first two rounds. If it doesn't, we'll certainly hear about it by the June 1 deadline, when the Eagles would save a lot more in dead cap by waiting.

Regardless, the consensus believes a trade to New England will get done, and it has Patriots fans excited, with Eagles fans exhausted over the entire thing. It certainly doesn't help when a Super Bowl MVP like quarterback Nick Foles joins the conversation, too, putting in his two cents that back up the chatter from the last few months.

Although Eagles fans are mixed on what they hope happens with Brown, there are many that want to see him stay in Philadelphia. All signs point to that not happening, so much so that even Foles envisions the receiver will inevitably be traded to the Patriots.

He might not have played with Brown during his tenure, but he's a voice worthy of listening to on the matter, as someone much closer to the situation than many others.

Nick Foles joins the conversation about AJ Brown going to the Patriots

Foles said as much during a recent episode of his podcast, "The SZN with Nick Foles & Evan Moore," sharing his belief that Brown's preferred teams likely include the Patriots, particularly because he grew up a fan of the team.

"What I have gathered is, (Brown) wants to be traded. But I also think he wants to be traded to specific places. I think New England would make a lot of sense because of his history with (Mike) Vrabel. I think that’s obvious, right? I think he even said he grew up a Patriots fan, if I’m correct, so that would be a twofold situation."

It's no secret that Brown wanted to be on the Patriots from the moment he declared for the 2019 draft, and instead, Bill Belichick picked N'Keal Harry in the first round, passing on Brown and several other eventual superstar receivers.

Brown has spoken about the heartbreak he has felt in the years since, and over the past few months has made it more than clear he wants to reunite with Mike Vrabel and play for the team he grew up loving.

Because of that connection to the head coach, along with all the other hints we've seen this offseason, Foles' opinion reflects that of most analysts who feel it's only a matter of time before Brown is packing his bags for Foxboro. That would be the ideal outcome, and now, we just have to wait to see if all the experts are right.
