The Patriots have had a rough day against the Dolphins on Sunday, heading into the fourth quarter down 31-0 and on the brink of another shutout loss. From the defense not showing up for most of the game, questionable play calling (again), and a piling up of penalties, the team has had no real shot of being competitive in Miami.

Although a loss is nearly guaranteed, the impressive Drake Maye continues to prove he's exactly what the Patriots have needed at quarterback each and every week.

Despite having the cards stacked against them and the decision to go for it on 4th and 15, Maye extended a play to throw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Austin Hooper, giving the Patriots their first points of the game in the fourth quarter.

It might end up being all for nothing, but it was just the latest example of what the rookie is capable of doing and a reminder of what the Patriots need to prioritize this offseason, and that's building around Maye to have a competent offense.

To be frank, the offensive line has been the primary problem on Sunday and most of the season, and that has mostly held Maye back from doing much against the divisional rival. Of course, his lack of ball security hasn't been significant as of late, as he was strip-sacked again, which led to a touchdown, but he's a breath of fresh air in what has otherwise been a stinky offensive effort.

He's living up to the Josh Allen nickname several analysts have awarded him starting from the pre-draft process. He continues to look like the rival quarterback, instilling some fear in the division about what the Patriots could be in a few years.
