The 2026 New England Patriots are back on the winning track after their third straight win against the Jets in Week 6. Resurgent star quarterback Drake Maye has quieted his myopic critics and tied another Patriots record in the process.
He tied Tom Brady (and the Patriots' first-ever starting quarterback, Butch Songin) with his third game in a row throwing three touchdown passes.
Drake Maye joined Tom Brady (4x) and Butch Songin (1960) as the only Patriots QBs to throw three passing touchdowns in three consecutive games.

His only problem against the Jets was his own stoned-fingered receivers. A.J. Brown, who surprisingly returned quickly from injury, uncharacteristically dropped two easy passes and should have caught another long one.
Regardless, Maye again shone with his arm and his running, despite an injury-riddled offensive line.
Drake Maye continues to confound his critics with another impressive performance
After a tough start to 2026 marked by poor decisions and turnovers (many of which could be attributed to the poor offensive line in front of him), Maye has rebounded in a big way. He's again put the Patriots' on his back, taking them from the brink of disaster at 1-2, to a 4-2 record, just a game off the pace of the 5-1 Buffalo Bills, who nobody else but the Patriots can seem to beat.
While Maye is ranked only 12th among NFL quarterbacks by Pro Football Focus, with a total grade of 78.3 and a passing grade of 76.1, his performances have been brilliant over the past three games, as evidenced by three straight wins.
Against the Jets, Maye completed only 56.3 percent of passes (take away the drops, and that percentage would have been significantly higher). However, he still threw three touchdown passes and had no interceptions or other turnovers.
Going forward, however, the monster in the room is the state of Maye's offensive line. While Will Campbell made a lightning return from his knee injury, three other current starters- right tackle Morgan Moses, left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, and super-sub Ben Brown, who'd been starting at right guard - all went down with injuries.
To say the O-line depth cupboard is bare is the understatement of the season.
Regardless, with rookie Caleb Lomu filling in for Moses at right tackle and manhandling the Jets' prolific sack-producer David Bailey, the makeshift Patriots offensive line didn't allow a sack. That may be a veiled message, as observers have questioned the starting offensive line's ability (see the 21 pressures allowed on Maye in the win over Buffalo) all season.
Lomu stepped in for Morgan Moses at right tackle and played 60 snaps brilliantly, allowing no pressures on Maye. Matt Prior and Walter Rouse stepped in at guard and did a solid job as well. Maye wasn't sacked all day long.
It will be up to Mike Vrabel and the personnel operation to fill the O-line gaps as best they can.
But with Maye continuing to tie records with his passing, Lomu playing like an All-Pro, and backups stepping into the O-line void, things are surprisingly still looking up in Foxborough.
