The Houston Texans just put the stake in the New England Patriots heart by recovering their fourth turnover of the game, which turned into a touchdown. It has been a wild game defined by bad complementary football, overzealous fans, and flag-happy officials, all to the detriment of the home team.

Going into halftime, things were starting to look up for the Patriots, as they were down just one score and got the football to start the third quarter. The momentum was swinging in their favor after Drake Maye threw an impressive 40-yard touchdown pass to Kayshon Boutte, only for the team to disappoint as soon as they returned to the field.

The defense took time to wake up and fortunately got to the point of holding the Texans' offense to field goals, but that didn't last long enough.

After trailing 27-14 at the start of the fourth quarter, it was time for Maye to get the offense back in the endzone again. They had just completed an impressive drive that ended with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Henry, only for their next series to start with one of the oddest interceptions seen in a very long time.

We've (unfortunately) heard of the helmet catch, and now we can familiarize ourselves with the helmet interception.

It was an absolutely heartbreaking moment that immediately ended what could have been a promising drive, giving the Texans another ample opportunity to raise the score once again, which is exactly what they did.

It couldn't have been a worse sequence of events, but it capped off what has been a disappointing day regarding ball security.

That will need to be a point of emphasis throughout practice next week as the Patriots prepare to take on the equally bad Jaguars in London in Week 7.
