From the start of his career with the Patriots, there was a lot of hope from fans that Drake Maye would hear a lot from the legendary Tom Brady, especially with Josh McDaniels back on the sideline.

It was clear he would have the fortune of watching the quarterback's tape from his time in New England, which was undoubtedly a plus, and that he would also mentor him in some sort of way.

Maybe it hasn't happened because of his contract with FOX Sports keeping him busy, or perhaps it's his minority ownership in the Raiders. But the pair have not been actively working together or keeping in contact too much, from what we know, and it appears Maye has heard from another all-time great instead.

Drake Maye hears from Peyton Manning going into Super Bowl LX

During the team's media availability on Thursday morning, Maye spoke about the advice he's received going into Super Bowl LX, and revealed that Peyton Manning had reached out to give him some tips ahead of the biggest game of his career.

For all the negativity that has been said about Maye going into the Super Bowl, it's nice to hear that someone as well respected as Manning reached out to offer any bit of advice he could, even if it's not necessarily who Patriots fans were hoping it would be.

What makes it even more special is that Maye shared that he heard from the 2-time Super Bowl Champion after beating the Broncos in the AFC Championship, who, in 2015, won his second Lombardi with the Broncos. That proves former players can set aside their bias and help young, promising players in the league.

That hasn't been what we've heard from Tom Brady over the past two weeks, which has been deeply disappointing to fans. But at least Manning has shared a lot of public support for Maye, and that certainly goes a long way.

He will need to internalize whatever the legend had to say as he enters the biggest game of his career and, hopefully, lead the Patriots to their next Championship against a very good Seahawks team. He's already proven he can do it; now he just has to show he can under the brightest lights.
