The New England Patriots had so many successful seasons under the tutelage of Bill Belichick that it still feels odd sometimes to realize he is no longer the coach. He's now the head man at North Carolina, and Tom Brady is a minority owner for the Las Vegas Raiders. Times change, and fast.
Just as the Mike Vrabel-led Patriots are finding their stride and are currently riding high after marching into Highmark Stadium and taking down the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, fans can't help but feel a bit bad about how things are going for their former leader.
Belichick's tenure with the Tar Heels has been anything but smooth, and he continues to take hit after hit for his team's poor performances. He continued to unravel further on Tuesday when he took another unexpected L.
Bill Belichick continues to embarrass himself at North Carolina
North Carolina's football team was slated to be the subject of a season-long Hulu documentary this year, highlighting Belichick's first venture into the world of college athletics. Front Office Sports confirmed, however, that this documentary has been cancelled.
While there is no official word yet on why it was cancelled, it is easy to infer that a 2-3 football team with some uncomfortable drama surrounding them may not be the best centerpiece for a documentary.
Additionally, allegations of a toxic football culture are now plaguing Belichick and the program, so they likely have more pressing concerns to address. They would probably like to get out of the public eye as quickly as possible. Patriots fans believed that winning was Belichick's top priority, so it's a wonder how this documentary even got approved in the first place.

Patriots fans have grown a bit tired of Belichick and his pettiness toward New England, as reports that he barred the team from scouting his North Carolina players have surfaced, and he directed his staff not to post any Drake Maye-related content on social media.
Obviously, this does not affect his legacy in New England, as he won six Super Bowls and forged two separate dynasties with the Patriots during his 24-year tenure at the helm. To some, however, it affects his personal legacy and leaves a bad taste in people's mouths at the end of his career.
Fans, regardless of how they feel about him, will always appreciate what Belichick did for the Patriots. North Carolina fans can't quite say the same yet, as the aging coach continues to take losses and unravel in the time since he left New England.
