Could it be?

Bill Belichick has had a very interesting past year or so, as he was not able to land another head coaching job in the NFL after being let go by the New England Patriots. In an effort to stick it to the NFL a bit, Belichick took the head coaching job with the North Carolina Tar Hells at the collegiate level.

Belichick went 4-8 veteranin his first year on the job, most definitely not going the way he had expected. The veterean head coach was a main architect of the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL. The New England Patriots ran the league for a 20-year period, and no franchise may ever enjoy that type of success again.

The arguments as to whether it was Belichick or Tom Brady primarily responsible for that success are still ongoing, but there is always a chance that Belichick could return to the NFL to perhaps prove that he was the main reason. This recent bombshell report indicates that there could be a path back into the league for the veteran head coach.

At least two teams have some level of interest in Bill Belichick

Here is a recent report from Josina Anderson:

Belichick is 73 years old and could have a few more years in him as a head coach, whether in the NFL or in college. It's clear, though, that teams seem to be a bit hesitant to hire him, as the final few years of his Patriots' tenure were a dysfunctional mess, and the argument of Tom Brady being the main reason for all that previous success does seem to have some legs.

However, Belichick is one of the winningest coaches ever and knows how the NFL works. He knows how to run an NFL team, so it's not a shock to hear from Anderson that a few teams could have interest. The best-case scenario for Belichick might be to land with a franchise like the ones Anderson mention to perhaps stabilize things for a few years.

The Giants might be the best-possible landing spot of the potential openings, as they seem to have a QB in place in Jaxson Dart. As of now, it's obviously a bit too early to tell if Bill Belichick will find his way back into the NFL, but I would not be shocked, personally, if he was hoping for one last chance at it.
