Ryan O'Leary has been covering the Patriots since 2020, when he began hosting the Patriots Wire Podcast for USA TODAY Sports Media Group. He's been a contributing writer and assistant editor for Musket Fire since August 2025. Ryan studied journalism at the University of New Hampshire and started his career covering local high school and college sports. He then transitioned out of the newsroom and into the live events space as a content manager and emcee for USA TODAY Ventures. Ryan's work has been featured on USA TODAY Sports and The Sporting News. He's also the current site expert for FanSided's Dawg Pound Daily, covering the Cleveland Browns (a role that has his Ohioan wife fired up). His NFL fandom has and always will lie with the Patriots, though, the team that's had him hooked since Desmond Howard and the Packers left him sobbing on the couch as a 10-year-old after Super Bowl XXXI. Thankfully, that pain subsided after consuming every snap of the greatest dynasty in professional sports history.
