Best choices to succeed Bill Belichick in New England

An outside candidate perhaps?

Could the New England Patriots really look outside the organization for their next head coach?  I think they’ll interview candidates at least.  The list of potential candidates could be 50 names long, and that’s a good thing.

There are a ton of great head coach-type coaches in the NFL who just need a chance, and I think it might be healthy to deviate to outside the organization for this role.  Maybe the Patriot Way is not necessarily something that needs to always come from inside the organization.

Maybe someone like Mike Kafka, the New York Giants’ offensive coordinator who is widely respected in the league, could be a perfect fit to implement his own version of the Patriot Way.

Perhaps Kyle Shanahan has another promising coach working his way up the ranks of his coaching staff that deserves a chance to be a head coach in the NFL.

Maybe a retreat is appropriate?  I mean, the possibilities are endless.  I’d think that Bill Belichick would want to conduct a wide-ranging search for the next head coach if he has any input in it.
