During an appearance on All Things Covered, likely traded wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins gave a huge hint for a couple of teams he might want to play for.  The segment was tweeted out and can be seen below:

He was asked to indicate with his body language which teams he’d want to play for among the four listed.  Three of them are in the AFC East and have all been linked to a wide receiver upgrade in some way this offseason.

As you can see from the video, he indicated favorably when asked about the rival Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, but did indicated unfavorably when asked about the New England Patriots and the New York Jets.

I’m not sure this is a huge surprise, but it’s still significant to “hear” it from Hopkins, who likely isn’t an Arizona Cardinal for much longer.

He may have a good bit of say in who he gets traded to, and that’s if the Cardinals don’t release him.  Given his expensive contract and age, interested teams might not be interested in taking on the remaining years.

In that case, DeAndre Hopkins would be free to sign with a team of his choosing, and I’d think the Buffalo Bills would be a huge player in that pursuit.

The New England Patriots have had a solid offseason, but they are simply getting buried in the AFC East.  The Jets and Dolphins have done quite a bit this offseason, given the Aaron Rodgers’ trade goes through.

They both are eventually going to be equipped with the talent and coaching to make deep playoff runs, and I don’t think the Bills are going anywhere.

I penned an article recently asking if this coming season was already going to be a wash for the Pats, and I’m beginning to think more and more that it will be.

Maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised somehow.
