3 moves to get the Patriots to the Super Bowl in 2023

Fix the tackle situation

If the Patriots were to acquire Lamar Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins, they’d likely not have either their first or second round picks in 2023, so they’d have to get creative to fix their tackle situation for the coming season.

They signed Riley Reiff and Calvin Anderson in free agency, two spot starters who can come in when necessary, but neither are going to be above average starters.

Trent Brown is also still here, but he didn’t play too well at left tackle in 2022, and it’s currently unknown how the Pats plan on addressing this situation.

Two names I’d keep an eye out for in this specific instance would be Taylor Lewan and Donovan Smith, two quality, veteran tackles who were cut by their respective teams earlier this offseason.

Installing one of them at left tackle and shifting Trent Brown back to right tackle would be an effective temporary solution to get the Patriots back to the Super Bowl in 2023.
