Worst mistakes Patriots have made in post-Brady era

Letting Matt Patricia and Joe Judge mess up the offense

I’m not sure what Bill Belichick was doing when he made this move.  One of the many weird parts about this was we didn’t really even know during last offseason who would be calling plays.  It went back and forth between Patricia and Judge.

But obviously, Belichick landed on Patricia, and man was that a giant disaster.  It felt like every single aspect of the offense regressed from the 2021 season.  The redzone offense was among the worst in the NFL.  The offensive line stunk it up.  Mac Jones looked totally lost, and the entire unit just looked like a JV squad.

There would have been 100 better choices to call plays on offense than a defensive coordinator.  Bill Belichick seemed to overthink this move.  It greatly hurt the Patriots and could have additional impacts into this coming season.

Now, the Patriots have uncertainty with their QB situation and the relationship between Mac Jones and Bill Belichick does not seem healthy, at all.
