Three targets at the 14th overall pick for the Patriots

While it may not be the most exciting route to take two offensive linemen in the first round in back-to-back drafts, tackle could be in play here at 14. It may not be the worst decision either. With former Patriots tackle Isaiah Wynn likely playing elsewhere in 2023, the Patriots may be in the market for drafting a new one, even with the recent addition of Riley Reiff in free agency.
While Harrison may not be the most hyped-up offensive lineman prospect in the class, that doesn’t mean he’s lacking in talent. He’s currently the 23rd-ranked overall prospect on PFF and the third-best offensive line prospect in the class.
Harrison projects as a solid tackle at the NFL level. He checks out physically, standing at 6’5 and weighing in at 315 pounds. Scouts note that Harrison has good arm-length and nice footwork, both essential qualities to have as an incoming offensive lineman prospect.
The issues with Harrison stem from his technique and his strength. While both are important for any offensive lineman to succeed in the NFL, they are fixable at the next level. Furthermore, these issues can be perfected within the Patriots’ system, a team that’s more often than not had an above-average offensive line.
Creating a young core of Cole Strange, Mike Onwenu, and Anton Harrison on the offensive line could help benefit the protection of Mac Jones greatly and set the offense up for success for years to come.
