Could the Patriots offer this trade package for Jerry Jeudy?
According to Benjamin Allbright, the Patriots have inquired about Jerry Jeudy. Could the team put together this competitive trade package to land him? With the signings of Mike Gesicki, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and James Robinson, it’s currently unknown whether or not the Patriots are still going to try to add another play-maker to the offense before the 2023 NFL Draft.
I think they still should, as I don’t believe anyone on the offense can make opposing defenses fearful. Sure, Gesicki, Smith-Schuster, and Robinson are nice additions, none of them are truly elite or have consistently shown the ability to play as such.
The Broncos seem to be open to trading Jerry Jeudy for the right price, but that price appears to be high. Allbright, who is a Broncos’ insider, indicates that the asking price for the former Alabama product is a first round pick or a high second round pick plus a player.
I’m not sure the Patriots would be willing to deal their first round pick in 2023, but their 46th overall pick in the second round could be a different story. Just thinking as someone who has contributed for years to Predominantly Orange, I’d guess that someone like David Andrews could be a very attractive piece to include in a trade package for Jerry Jeudy.
Andrews is one of the better centers in the NFL, and Denver currently has a noticeable hole at that position. Broncos’ General Manager George Paton has invested in the offensive line this offseason, and I’m sure he would not mind adding a very good center to put a bow on the offensive line.
Would the Pats trade someone like Andrews? Well, that’s the problem, as I’m not sure they would, but man, if they could package Andrews in a deal with their 46th overall selection, I think that would be able to pry Jerry Jeudy away from the Broncos.
The Pats could then turn their attention to trying to fix their offensive line, and they’d still have their first round pick to try and do so.
