Aaron Rodgers confirms intention to play for Jets in 2023
Welp, that happened.
During his weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee show, Aaron Rodgers went on a bit of a tangent regarding his time as a Packer and what has happened over the last few offseasons. He said a lot, including what his darkness retreat was like, and he finally gave the people what we were all wanting to hear.
While nothing is final, Rodgers indicated that he intend to play for the New York Jets in the 2023 season.
What was interesting was him noting that he was 90% retired, 10% still wanting to play before he began his darkness retreat. He went on to say that when the retreat was over, he began to check his phone after five days and noticed a change in tune from Green Bay.
That seemed to be the turning point for the two sides.
The Packers’ organization has seemed set on moving on from the four time MVP for a couple of years now, and them picking Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft was a good indication of that.
Now, unless something major happens, Aaron Rodgers will take his talents to the Jets, and now, the starting quarterbacks in the AFC East in 2023 could be:
- Josh Allen
- Tua Tagovalioa
- Aaron Rodgers
- Mac Jones
You see, this could end up being a devastating season for the New England Patriots if they don’t make a major move. They’ve re-signed a couple of their own players have have signed a couple of spot starter players along the offensive line, but perhaps with this news about Rodgers, the Patriots could make a play for Lamar Jackson?
Whatever the Patriots decide to do, they need to do something.
