New England Patriots free agency: Getting an “all in” haul

Patriots sign RT Mike McGlinchey, four years, $60 million

According to spotrac.com, McGlinchey’s market value is $10.7 million per year, but I don’t buy that number.  It seems too low, and with the league being short with quality offensive line play, the Patriots may have to invest heavily to fix the OL.

Isaiah Wynn is likely not returning, and Trent Brown’s future could be up in the air.  Well, New England settles one tackle position by bringing in McGlinchey, who has spent the first five seasons of his career with the San Francisco 49ers.

He isn’t elite, but he’s very good, and would solve an issue for the team for the long-term, and it would also hammer home the idea that the team is not playing games this time when it comes to fixing the offense.

Perhaps in this scenario, New England keeps Trent Brown at the left tackle position, or perhaps the team looks elsewhere for their starting left tackle…
