The New England Patriots should take some careful notes based on the two teams duking it out for the Super Bowl 57 trophy.  There are some obvious lessons to be learned from the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles being in the Super Bowl.

Each team excels in a few things that have greatly helped them get to this point.  It would be wise for New England to take some notes and to try and see if they can build a roster capable enough of getting back to the Super Bowl.

What are the main lessons to be learned from the two Super Bowl teams as the Patriots progress forward?

Lessons Patriots can learn from the Super Bowl 57 teams

Need an elite talent at QB

I’m sorry to break it to the fans who are Mac Jones Truthers, but he is not an elite quarterback in any regard and will not be leading the team to a Super Bowl.  He’s not particularly above average in much of anything as a QB.

And he certainly does not have the arm of Patrick Mahomes and the legs of Jalen Hurts.  It’s not as easy to simply go find one of these uber-talented players, but it’s something that the team should try.  Perhaps Anthony Richardson is someone the team can target in the 2023 NFL Draft?

Elite offensive line play goes a long way

The way to win games in the NFL starts in the trenches.  Both the Eagles and the Chiefs have elite offensive lines and use them to their advantage.  Philly has a bruising running attack that helps them wear down opposing defenses.

The Chiefs aren’t an elite rushing team, but their O-line has been able to keep Patrick Mahomes upright all season.  It might be time for the Patriots to invest heavily in this unit this offseason if they hope to even sniff the Super Bowl again.

The defensive line is insanely important

This is a unit that I think the Patriots have settled with Christian Barmore and Davon Godchaux.  Having an elite defensive line to win the line of scrimmage on defense is also a crucial part of putting together a Super Bowl roster.

Chris Jones is one of the best in the league, and the Eagles defensive line features excellent veterans and young studs like Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Josh Sweat, Ndamukong Suh, and Linval Joseph.

New England should continue to add to the defensive front until it’s as good as humanly possible.
