Three free agents over 30 the Patriots should sign in 2023
The New England Patriots will have money to spend this offseason. What free agents over 30 years old should they target in 2023? Signing older free agents might not be the best of ideas, but depending on how well they are still playing and how much it costs to acquire them, it could be a good deal for both sides.
The Patriots do have some needs on both sides of the ball, and they may need to go all out in trying to fix their personnel on offense. They will still have to make some secondary moves to round out the roster.

Riley Reiff, T, 34 years old
Riley Reiff is a quality tackle who has played both left and right tackle. He was most recently with the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals. Reiff could be a nice addition to the tackle room since he can play both sides.
It also gives the Patriots a higher floor with this unit if they do take a tackle in the NFL draft and they end up struggling. Not a flashy signing, but perhaps a very important one.
Eric Fisher, T, 32 years old
The Patriots should continue to add to their offensive line, and Eric Fisher could fall into the same category as Reiff. Fisher, a left tackle, was rock solid for the Chiefs before playing a year for the Colts and then being signed by the Dolphins late this season.
Fisher is probably not what he was five years ago, but again, this could be a solid signing to at least raise the floor of the OL room.
Keeping Mac Jones upright in the offense is crucial, and the offensive line play in 2022 regressed quite a bit.
Patrick Peterson, CB, 32 years old
Patrick Peterson was once one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, but he has since come back down to earth a bit, as he is over 30 years old. However, I do think he could serve as a solid piece in a young Patriots’ secondary.
Peterson has 34 career interceptions and actually had five this year, along with 15 passes defensed, so he can still put up numbers. Getting the Jones’ in the secondary a veteran addition in the secondary could be a very smart idea for Bill Belichick.
