If you had to describe Mac Jones’s 2023 Patriots campaign in one word, what would you use?

There’s probably a few words you could use: “hectic”, “rocky”“regression”, or maybe you may lean a little more towards something like “optimistic” or “encouraging”? Regardless, no matter how you cut it, the Patriots’ starting QB had a season that was far from perfect.

This season, Mac played in fourteen of New England’s seventeen games with a 6-8 record. He managed the Patriots’ offense at a 65.2% completion rate, about 3,000 yards, fourteen touchdowns and eleven interceptions; a clear regression from his rookie campaign last year.

After every season, any fanbase with a less-than-stellar season from their team’s QB will more often than not look for the next best player to take the job.

With Mac’s performance this season, there will inevitably be some questions as to if the Patriots will move forward with Mac as the franchise quarterback. However, are those questions really validated? Should the Patriots actually look to improve the position this offseason?

Lets look at all the options on the table and rank them from worst to best…
