Let’s conduct a final report on who led the Patriots in rushing touchdowns.

As the New England Patriots 2022 season has come to an end, we take a look back on player statistics.

According to our mid-season report, Rhamondre Stevenson was leading the team in rushing touchdowns. Stevenson completely took over the backfield while Damien Harris was plagued with an injury.

Stevenson totaled 1,040 rushing yards, with five rushing touchdowns – plus he tallied an additional 421 receiving yards with one receiving touchdown (per ESPN). While he hadn’t had a fumble leading up to week 11, he ended the season with four.

In his rookie year, he rushed for 606 yards, had 123 receiving yards, and had five rushing touchdowns. While his number of scores remained the same, he almost doubled his rushing yards and increased his receiving yards by 4x this season. This is key to note towards his improvement across the board.

Rhamondre Stevenson surpassed 1,000 rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills in the last game of the season. This stat is monumental for him as a Patriot, as he becomes the first Patriot to accomplish this since LeGarrette Blount.

No other running back for the Patriots even came close to the amount of productivity Stevenson had this year. His counterpart, Damien Harris, had 462 rushing yards with three touchdowns. Kevin Harris and Pierre Strong Jr. both had one touchdown each.

For the Patriots, the 2022 season relied on their run game. Thankfully for Stevenson, he stepped up to the challenge and produced. The 24-year-old back had an impressive sophomore season. Amongst the repertoire of stellar New England Patriots running backs, Stevenson stacks up quite nicely against some of their big names – and he’s only in year two. This makes #38’s run with the team even more remarkable.

Before the season began, our projections were put on Stevenson to lead the team in rushing touchdowns. As the year concludes, Stevenson was the right choice. Will he do it again next year?
