Patriots who have played their last game for the team

Isaiah Wynn, OT

Isaiah Wynn has battled injuries during his career with the team, and in 2022, battled inconsistent play and the injury bug.  He played in just 9 games this season and was primarily the right tackle, where he simply was not able to get the job done.

Funnily enough, Trent Brown also struggled a bit at left tackle.  The two were switched in their tackle duties this past offseason, and I don’t think it worked out well for either of them.  Wynn will be a free agent at the end of the season, and I’m truly surprise the Patriots didn’t trade him at the deadline.

While they could use more bodies in this unit, I’m not sure Wynn is going to be part of that equation.  According to Pro Football Reference, he was called for four holding penalties and four false start penalties in nine games played this year.

That, folks, is not good.  I think a fresh start is needed for both sides, as Isaiah Wynn is a talented player, but I’m not sure he’d be doing himself much good staying in New England, and I don’t think he’ll be offered any sort of contract.
