Top 5 Player Prop Bets for Week 17: #4

Dolphins QB Teddy Bridgewater 1+ interception (-120) – DraftKings Sportsbook

Teddy Bridgewater will be making his second start of the season for the Miami Dolphins. He played significant time in Week 4 after Tua Tagovailoa’s early exit and then got the start in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, the results have not been stellar.

Bridgewater has thrown 60 passes this season, with three of them resulting in interceptions. To put it bluntly, that’s not good. He is a capable quarterback who can win ballgames against good teams. He’s not a quarterback to be taken lightly, and he will move the ball against this Patriots’ defense. But he does turn the ball over.

In his only start of the year against Minnesota, Bridgewater went 23 of 34 for 329 yards and two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions. Meanwhile, the Patriots have 16 interceptions on the year, which ranks them 2nd in the NFL. Outside of only three occasions, the Patriots’ defense has at least one interception in every game this season.

This is a recipe for disaster for Teddy Bridgewater, even with the Patriots’ secondary limping out a hodgepodge unit of practice squad guys (more on that later). The Dolphins will throw for volume, while the Patriots’ pass rush remains strong, and there is still a veteran presence on the back end. Devin McCourty (3 INT) and Kyle Dugger (2 INT) are active, Jonathan Jones (3 INT) is questionable but expected to play, and Jalen Mills (2 INT) returned to practice Friday, so hopefully, he will be good to go as well. I expect this unit to come away with at least one pick.
