In what might go down as an all-time ending, the New England Patriots put a dagger in their playoff hopes in week 15 with a brutal loss.  There really are no words to describe what just happened on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, but I need at least 300 of them to make this up to editorial standards.

On Sunday, the New England Patriots put a brutally painful dagger right in the middle of their playoff hopes.  The defense largely played well scoring a defensive touchdown and keeping Davante Adams in check.

Josh Jacobs also didn’t do a ton of damage.  Once again, it appears that the defense did enough for the Patriots to win, but it was the offense that failed again.  Matt Patricia had the time of his life (this is sarcasm) calling plays, which led to Mac Jones going just 13/31 for 111 yards against a terrible secondary.

Rhamondre Stevenson 171 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, once again proving his worth as a true RB1 and workhorse for the team going into their future seasons.  The Patriots were able to erase a deficit and claw back into the game, but I’m not sure how much credit I give them being that they did this against the Raiders, a team that has allowed just about everyone back into the game.

And then, on the last play of regulation, disaster struck, as Rhamondre Stevenson took a simple handoff deeper into Raiders territory, decided to lateral it to Jakobi Meyers, who then tried to toss it back to Mac Jones.

But former Patriot Chandler Jones had other ideas, as he picked off that lateral and ran in back for the game winning touchdown with zeros on the clock.

This might be one of the wildest finishes in the history of sports, let alone the NFL, and this right here perfectly sums up the season for New England, who now have a ton of work to do to get into the postseason.
