Raiders QB Derek Carr at least one 1oneinterception (-125) – DraftKings Sportsbook

Death, taxes, and a Derek Carr interception am I right?

The Patriots’ defense ranks sixth in the NFL with 13 interceptions through 13 games, just two picks out of the league lead. They feature a dominant pass rush that ranks second in the league in pressure rate (26.4%), and they could see the return of Christian Barmore to strengthen the unit further. There have only been three games this season that the Patriots’ defense hasn’t come up with an interception.

On the other side, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr tends to throw them. He has thrown ten interceptions this year through 13 games, including five in his last three games. Carr is not necessarily a statue in the pocket, but he can sure look like one on some plays. His pocket awareness is inconsistent, and he sometimes gets happy feet before forcing throws. He’s not a bad quarterback on the whole; in fact, I think he may be underrated.

But his game does yield interceptions, and the PPatriots’defense should take advantage. While the unit is dealing with injuries in the secondary, it remains an opportunistic group. There isn’t a coach in the league more familiar with Josh McDaniels’ offensive play-calling than Bill Belichick, and his defensive play-callers will undoubtedly unveil some funky looks to confuse Carr.

Belichick loves to take away a team’s top threat, but it’s unclear whether that will be Adams or Jacobs in Week 15. However, Josh McDaniels loves calling play-action, and taking either/or out of the game will have an impact on Carr. In three career games against the Patriots, Carr is 0-3 with two interceptions. I believe after Sunday, he will be 0-4 with three plus interceptions.
