The NFL Pro Bowl voting has been going on for a few weeks now, and in their latest update released on Wednesday, seven Patriots found themselves in the top 10 at their position.

  • David Andrews – 10th place for centers
  • Nick Folk – 4th place for kickers
  • Jonathan Jones – 10th place for cornerbacks
  • Marcus Jones – 5th place for return specialist
  • Matthew Judon – 2nd place for outside linebacker
  • Devin McCourty – 9th place for safety
  • Matthew Slater – 2nd place for special teams

Despite New England’s rough season, a handful of players continue to make an impression with their standout performances. Considering only three Patriots made the Pro Bowl last year (excluding Mac Jones’ alternate placement), it’s good to see several more recognized for their talent this season, even as the team struggles.

As one of the players who made the Pro Bowl in 2021, Matthew Judon’s performance this season is on pace to obliterate his statistics of last season. In just his second season with the Patriots, he’s working his way back to Pro Bowl honors once again. Unsurprisingly, he currently sits in second place among all outside linebackers. With 13 sacks through 12 games, he’s only behind Nick Bosa for the most sacks in the league.

Ten-time Pro Bowler Matthew Slater is also receiving a lot of votes, currently placing second among all special teamers in the league. The locker room leader continues to outplay those in his position across the league and continues to be an incredible mentor to his young teammates each and every year. Because this could be his last season in the NFL, it would be a fantastic way for him to retire with another Pro Bowl to add to his resume.

Rookie Marcus Jones has impressed over the last few weeks, particularly with his punt return touchdown to beat the Jets in week 11. That continued into the Patriots’ most recent matchup with the Bills, as Jones was used all over the field throughout the game. His one snap with the offense brought the only touchdown by the team for the game, proving just how valuable and universal the rookie can be for years to come.

Although he’s certainly having a down year compared to his performance over the last few years, Nick Folk remains in the top five of all votes among kickers. Through 12 games this season, he’s totaled 25-of-30 field goals and successfully hit every extra point attempt, all while being one of the most consistent pieces of the Patriots team.

Jonathan Jones and Devin McCourty just barely crack the top 10 at their respective positions, while David Andrews lands at number 10 among all centers, even with three missed games this season.
