Top 3 Player Prop Bets for Week 8: #1

Patriots LB Matthew Judon over .75 sacks (+105) – DraftKings Sportsbook

Wilson will need to run, in part due to the play of Matthew Judon. Judon is having another fantastic season, with 8.5 sacks through 7 games, good enough for the league lead.

This week, he will get the Jets offensive line. The Jets rank 21st in team pass block win rate, and just lost the versatile Alijah Vera-Tucker for the season. Due to several other injuries to his teammates, Vera-Tucker most recently played right tackle on an offensive line set to see its fourth different group of starters. Cedric Ogbuehi is set to make his first start of the season for New York, the fifth city he’s called home since entering the league in 2015. When lined up on that side, I expect Judon to take full advantage of that matchup.

On the other side, Duane Brown will be starting at left tackle. While Brown has not allowed a sack yet in 2022, his best days are behind him. Last season with Seattle, Brown allowed eight sacks, which was tied for ninth most in the NFL. Brown has been a top-tier tackle in this league and is certainly no slouch even still, but in this one, I expect the Patriots defense will give him all he can handle. And that starts with Matthew Judon.

Judon has been held without a sack only once this year, in Week 6 against Cleveland. In Week 5 against Detroit, he notched two, and last game against Chicago, he topped that with two and a half. With the Jets offensive line in a state of adjustment, I believe Judon is primed for another 2-sack game.
