Bleacher Report recently released an article on trades that some struggling teams should make, and they proposed Isaiah Wynn to be traded in one of them.  At this point, I think it’s a guarantee that Patriots‘ OL Isaiah Wynn won’t be on the team in 2023.  He is currently playing on his fifth year option and has had a rough go at in from right tackle.

During the offseason, he was essentially demoted to right tackle, but can play all along the offensive line, which does make him a desirable piece to teams who are desperate.  Bleacher Report recently released an article on proposed trades that some struggling teams should make, and they sent Isaiah Wynn to the Los Angeles Rams in this hypothetical.

It does make a ton of sense, too.  First off, you are sending Wynn not only out of the division, but out of the conference.  He is still a talented player even though his 2022 season hasn’t been good.  Wynn would also go to a situation that he’d likely enjoy, simply because the Rams are defending Super Bowl champions and are likely going to figure something out at some point.

He’d also immediately be inserted somewhere in the starting lineup.  The Rams’ starting left tackle, Joe Noteboom, is set to miss the season, so Isaiah Wynn could perhaps find a home there.  When Noteboom comes back, and if the Rams were to re-sign him, Wynn might be able to find another position along the line to settle into.

The Rams’ offensive line has allowed over 20 sacks and has really hurt their running game.  Wynn would be an upgrade, as the Rams’ line does have a few backups on it.  The likely return of a draft pick or pick swaps wouldn’t make headlines, but it would get Wynn’s contract off the books and put an end to the saga.
