Three bold predictions for Patriots’ Mac Jones in 2022

Mac Jones receives MVP votes

I think there’s a scenario where the Patriots’ 2022 season is noticeably worse than there 2021 season, but they still get some attention.  I do not think the Patriots are going to win 10 games again this season.

With the drastic improvement of many teams in the AFC, I think New England is likely to win a few games less than they did last year.  However, even if that does happen, I think Mac Jones can still make some noise and earn some MVP votes.

The Patriots’ offensive line should be plenty good enough with four solid starters.  The tight end room of Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith is as good as it gets in the NFL.  Their running back stable led by Damien Harris, who had 15 rushing touchdowns last year, and Rhamondre Stevenson, a promising second year player, will hold their own, and the receiver room, while lacking top-end talent, appears to be as solid and as deep as they come.

Mac Jones should have plenty opportunity to flourish for a bit with this deep supporting cast.  He’s put in the work to make a huge leap in year two, and I don’t think approaching MVP territory is by any means out of the question.
