Three free agents the Patriots should consider signing: AJ Bouye, Cornerback

AJ Bouye was once one of the more promising young cornerbacks in the NFL.  He broke into the scene in 2016 with the Houston Texans before signing a massive contract with the Jacksonvilla Jaguars in the offseason.

He since played three seasons with the Jaguars, one with the Denver Broncos, and one with the Carolina Panthers.

He’s bounced around a bit over the past few seasons and obviously isn’t the player he once was in 2016 and 2017.

However, it’s clear that the New England Patriots could use some help with their cornerback situation, as there’s some real uncertainty outside of the projected starters in Jalen Mills, Terrance Mitchell and Jonathan Jones.

The Patriots don’t have a high end cornerback on the roster anymore since they elected to not re-sign JC Jackson, and they obviously won’t be able to sign a high end cornerback this late in the offseason.

Adding a solid veteran like AJ Bouye is a move to simply help out on the depth side in case one of the starters goes down.

It’s not a glamorous move, but Bouye has played some very good football and could find some success in New England.
