Three fantasy football sleepers for the Patriots in 2022 – Jonnu Smith, Tight end

Jonnu Smith was TE33 last year for fantasy football.

There is no reason he should be that low for 2021.  Smith is an insane athletic specimen who should see an increased target share in 2022.

For reference, Hunter Henry was the TE7 in fantasy.  I think it would better suit the offense if the two notable tight ends had a bit more even target share.  It would give yet another solid weapon for the Patriots to use and for opposing defenses to cover.

Smith had eight touchdowns in 2020 for the Tennessee Titans before signing with the Patriots before the 2021 season.

In 2020, Smith was TE10, but while I don’t think he’s likely to catch eight touchdown passes in 2022, I do think we could see a considerable more amount of yards and a few more touchdowns.

It is up to Jones and Smith to find the needed chemistry, and hopefully Henry can take some attention off of Jonnu Smith.

Smith has a large contract, and this is a huge year to see if he can live up to it.  If he can’t the Patriots could simply move off of him and feature Henry for the years forward.
