Three best moves in offseason for the New England Patriots: Finding CB1 in Terrance Mitchell for less than $2 million

The departure of JC Jackson is evident.  The Patriots’ secondary is going to be considerably weaker in 2022 and perhaps beyond with Jackson no longer a Patriot.

However, the team seemingly found their CB in free agency with the signing of Terrance Mitchell.

Now on his sixth team, the 30 year old is in line to hold down the CB1 duties in New England this season.

Even better, his contract is worth just $1.75 million with only $350,000 guaranteed.

Mitchell is likely to massively outperform his contract with New England this season.  He’s been very good in training camp and should be tasked with locking down opposing offenses top receiver options.

He only has 8 interceptions in his career, but Terrance Mitchell has proven to be a rock solid option for most of his career.  Perhaps playing in a defense like New England with playmakers everywhere will help him perform better.

He spent the 2021 season as a Houston Texan.
